PROFILE
Communication is the true essence of art. An arrangement of forms created to evoke a common experience.
I have always been drawn to expression and connection. How we see the world and how it manifests in our lives. Growing up in Northern British Columbia, Canada, the outdoors have played an integral part of who I am. The beauty of the natural world has and continues to inspire me. Being self taught, I paint in various styles for each holds its own intrinsic beauty and complexity, much like nature. Sometimes the paintings evolve over a period of days or weeks, allowing the painting to become its own identity, a life of its own, dictating what it needs and my job is to reveal it. A constant transition between control and surrender. Each style is painted with different techniques. In all of my works I use mostly oils and in my abstract work molding pastes and acrylics are sometimes used as well. The combination of these over numerous layers create depth and intensity that seem to move in the changing light.

What the paintings reveal is different for everyone. I prefer not to explain the art but rather let it do the speaking for itself and allow the viewer to decide what it means to them. You don't explain what a sunset means... it just is. But how it makes you feel is the key.
Now residing in Kelowna, B.C., I am continually inspired by the synergy of the universe, and the reflection of light.
